Miss Jean Marguerite Weidner, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles C. Weidner, Holly Pike, was married to Glenn A. Stambaugh, son of Mr. and Mrs. Earl E. Stambaugh, Carlisle R. D. 1, in a ceremony at 7:30 o'clock last night in the First Lutheran Church.
Christmas appointments of evergreens and poinsettia placed in the church for the holidays provided a striking setting for the ceremony, which was performed by Rev. Dr. Harry L. Saul, the pastor.
The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, had as he only attendant Mrs. Robert E. Weidner, her sister-in-law. They wore street-length dresses. The bride carried gardenias and her attendant, roses. Robert E. Weidner was best man.
Mrs. Leslie M. Karper, church organist, gave a brief recital before the service and also played the wedding marches.
The reception was held at the Weidner home. Following the wedding trip, the couple will reside on a farm in Carlisle R. D. 1. The bride attended Dickinson College and graduated from Drexel Institute of Technology. She is a member of Phi Mu. Mr. Stambaugh, who was in the Army for three years during the war and served overseas, is a Dickinson College graduate and a member of Phi Kappa Sigma. He is engaged in farming and also is associated with his father in the sale of farm machinery.

Jean Weidner Stambaugh, 87 of Carlisle, died Friday Dec. 19, 2008, in the Harrisburg Hospital.
Born Nov. 17, 1921, in Carlisle, the daughter of the late Charles and Clara Walter Weidner.
Mrs. Stambaugh was a 1939 graduate of Carlisle High School, attended Dickinson College and graduated from Drexel University in 1943. Jean was a very generous lady who gave gifts to most people she met and also volunteered countless hours with Meals on Wheels in Carlisle, where she served as President. She was a volunteer at Bosler Library, repairing books for several years. She was an avid lover of all animals and was a 4-H leader in Cumberland County. Her favorite enjoyment was completing the Sunday New York Times crossword puzzles.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Glenn A. Stambaugh; a son, Glenn E. Stambaugh, Carlisle; a daughter, Nancy J. Freemen and her husband Ed, Baltimore and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by five brothers, Chester, Leslie, Edgar, Robert and Judge Clinton Weidner.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Second Presbyterian Church, 528 Garland Drive, Carlisle, with the Rev. Jeffrey W. Gibeluis and Rev. Jennifer McKenna officiating. Burial will be in Westminster Cemetery, Carlisle. There will be a visitation from 10 a.m. Tuesday until the time of the service in the church.

Glenn Albon Stambaugh, 92, of Carlisle, died Sunday, March 2, 2014 at Cumberland Crossing Retirement Community, Carlisle. For the previous 90 years he lived on the family farm.
Born April 20, 1921 in Carlisle, he was the son of the late Earl and Mary McMillen Stambaugh and the widower of Jean Weidner Stambaugh, to whom he was married for 61 years.
He graduated from Dickinson College, Carlisle in 1943 with a Bachelor's Degree. Upon graduation he entered the US Army and served during WWII; during his service he was stationed in France and England. He was a superintendent of Sunday school at Second Presbyterian where he was a member. Glenn was an astute business man who ran the family farm. He was enthusiastic about investing and was particularly knowledgeable about the stock market. He was very charitable, had two trusts set up, one to help with animals and the other to provide scholarships for local students attending Dickinson College. He was adamant about Penn State football.
Surviving are his son, Glenn E. Stambaugh of Carlisle and his daughter, Nancy J. Freeman (and husband, Edwin) of Baltimore, MD.
Graveside services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
