JOHN GERMAN STANLEY, son of HANNAH CRANMER and DANIEL SUTHERLAND STANLEY, was born October 31, 1821 in Ohio,¹⁵⁵⁰ and died March 14, 1870.^{1514, 1550} He is buried in Ashland Cemetery, Saunders County, Nebraska.^{1514, 456}

He married MARY ANN TAYLOR on February 19, 1845 in Summit County, Ohio.^{1550, 3394} She was born February 5, 1825 in Massachusetts,^{1550, 619} and died August 20, 1911 in Alliance, Stark, Ohio.⁶¹⁹ She is buried in Alliance City Cemetery, Stark County, Ohio.^{619, 456}

Mrs. Mary Stanley

Alliance, August 22.—Mrs. Mary Stanley, relict of the late John G. Stanley, died at the home of her son, A. V. Stanley, 174 West Main street, Sunday morning at about 9 o'clock of old age. She was past 86 years of age and had been an invalid for 11 years.

Mrs. Stanley was born in Franklin county, Mass., in 1825. She came to Ohio at the age of six and has spent her life in this state. She was married in 1847 to John G. Stanley who died in 1870. Ten children were born to this union, three of whom survive. They are Mrs. A. S. Meacham, of Salida, Col.; Mrs. Geo. R. Reynolds, of Bayard, Neb., and A. V. Stanley, of Alliance.

Mrs. Stanley was a devout church member, having belonged to the M. E. church for over 65 years.

The funeral services were private and were held at the home of her son at 4:30 Monday. Rev. Garfield Morgan officiating. Burial was made in the Alliance cemetery.
