Dr. Frank H. Stevenson, former pastor of the Presbyterian Church of the Covenant, Eighth and Elm Streets, died suddenly last night in Boston, Mass.
The news of Dr. Stevenson's death was received in a long-distance telephone call from Mrs. Stevenson to her sister, Miss Beatrice Shillito, Cunningham Road, Carmago. Miss Shillito said that Dr. Stevenson, with his wife and two children, was on a vacation trip when he was stricken with a sudden heart attack.
Dr. Stevenson, who lived at Princeton, N. J., was at the time of his death Chairman of the Executive Board of Westminster Seminary, Philadelphia.
In 1917, Dr. Stevenson married Miss Mary Shillito, daughter of the late Stewart Shillito, pioneer Cincinnati merchant. He is survived by his widow and two children, Frank H. Jr. and Mary Shillito.
Dr. Stevenson was pastor of the Church of the Covenant from 1915 to 1927, prior to its merger with the First Presbyterian Church. He was a leader in civic activities and was the first Ohio clergyman to broadcast church services. He was President of the Board of Trustees of Lane Seminary.
Dr. Stevenson was born in Escondido, Calif., in 1883. He was engaged in business in San Francisco when he decided to enter the ministry. He entered Princeton Theological Seminary and was graduated in 1911.
After a home missionary pastorate at the Fort Peck Indian Reservation in Montana and a preaching mission in the Free Church, St. Andrews, Scotland, he was called to the First Presbyterian Church of Pittsburgh. From there he came to Cincinnati. In 1918 he was given the honorary degree of Doctor of Divinity by Hanover College.
Services for Dr. Stevenson will be conducted at 2:30 o'clock Saturday afternoon from the Covenant-First Presbyterian Church, Eighth and Elm Streets. Burial will be in Spring Grove.

Mrs. Frank H. Stevenson, 1721 Edwards Rd., Hyde Park, died yesterday at her home. She was 79 years old.
Mrs. Stevenson was the former Mary Shillito, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Stewart Shillito and granddaughter of John Shillito, pioneer Cincinnati merchant.
She was the widow of Rev. Frank H. Stevenson, minister of the Presbyterian Church of the Covenant, Eighth and Elm Sts., from 1915-1927. Her husband was president of the board of trustees of Westminster Theological Seminary, Philadelphia, and a member of the board of directors of Princeton Seminary, Princeton, N. J. He died in 1934.
Mrs. Stevenson was born in Cincinnati. She attended Miss Spence's School in New York. She was president, then honorary president, of the board of lady managers of the Widows' and Old Men's Home, and of the Women's Auxiliary, Westminster Theological Seminary.
She was a member of the National Society of Colonial Dames, Cincinnati Town and Country Garden Club and the Maternity Society of the Protestant Episcopal Church.
Survivors are a son, Frank H. Stevenson, 1221 Edward Rd.; a daughter, Mrs. Paul R. Hackstedde, Arcadia, Calif.; a sister, Miss Beatrice Shillito, Delanco,N. J.; a brother, John Shillito, Chestnut Hill, Mass., and four grandchildren.
The Schaefer and Busby Funeral Home, 24 W. Ninth St., is in charge of arrangements.
