Aged Physician Dies

Dr. Colin G. Strong, aged 80 years, who has been a guest at the Hotel Leighton several months, died yesterday. He was a well known army surgeon at one time and was the owner of a large cattle ranch. He had resided in California thirty-five years. Funeral arrangements have not been decided. The body is at the undertaking establishment of Bresee brothers.

DR. COLIN G. STRONG DEAD.

LOS ANGELES, May 7.—Dr. Colin G. Strong, formerly well known in San Francisco, died in this city to-day aged 81 years. He was born in Edinburgh, Scotland, in 1827, his father being American Consul in that city. Dr. Strong served as surgeon in the Civil War and was a member of the Loyal Legion and of the Grand Army of the Republic. A widow survives him. The remains will be cremated in this city.

Mrs. Strong Rites to Be Tomorrow

Last rites for Mrs. Jennie Willey Strong, wife of the late Colin J. Strong, physician and surgeon-major in the Civil War, will be conducted at Bresee Brothers Mortuary, 855 South Figueroa street, tomorrow at 2:30 p.m.

Mrs. Strong died Thursday at the age of 90 years. She had made her home at the Leighton Hotel, 2127 West Sixth street, for many years, having lived in Los Angeles twenty-five years and in California for nearly seventy-five years. She was a Daughter of the American Revolution and a direct descendant of Capt. J. Willey of Haddan. She leaves several nieces and one nephew.
