ROBERT LLOYD SYLVESTER, SR., resident of Houston for 70 yrs., went to be in the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Dec. 28, in Euless, TX. He was born in Sylvester Township, WI on September 15, 1916. The family moved to Brownsville, TX in 1920, where he graduated in 1933. He graduated from Rice Institute (Univ.) with a BA in Bus. Admin. in 1938. He was employed by Southern Warehouse Corp. as an accountant for 48 yrs., retiring at 70. He served his country during WWlI and married Jessie Zeigler in 1944. They had 4 children and countless others call him Dad. He was a charter member of Parkway Fellowship of the C&MA Church for 70 yrs, serving as treasurer for 37 yrs. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 53 yrs., Jessie, his darling daughter Rebecca and his precious son Robert, Jr. He is survived by his daughters Rhoda Duhon (s-i-l John) & Rhonda Gates (s-i-l Rev. Michael), adopted son Jonathan (d-i-l Nga), grandchildren Rev. Lawrence Duhon, Michael, Robert & Thomas Gates, Jessica Long, Annie & Annette Sylvester. His 11 great grandchildren include: Alex, Katharine, Ian, Joshua, Alaina & Hannah Long, Daniel & Jonathan Duhon, Bryant, Katelyn & Levi Gates, Funeral will be at Parkway Fellowship Church on 13413 Briar Forest Dr. Houston, TX on Mon. Jan.2 at 2 p.m. Family visitation will be at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 1101 Antoine Dr. from 5-9 p.m. on Jan. 1. Interment will be at Forest Park Cemetery at 10 a.m. on Jan. 3. Memorial gifts will be for missions and can be directed to Rhoda Duhon at 405 E. Alexander Ln., Euless, TX 76040.
