FIRE DESTROYS HOME OF HART MEAT DEALER

Hart, Dec. 19.—An explosion of gas in the furnace at the residence of Cornelius Van Allsburg, meat dealer, started a fire that destroyed the house last evening. The loss is estimated at $6,000, with insurance of $2,200.

Van Allsburg's family was away from home. In the afternoon he built a fire in the furnace and returned downtown to his business. A few hours later neighbors heard the explosion and turned in a fire alarm. The firemen were helpless as the house was on the outskirts of the town far from a water main. Only a small amount of furniture was saved.
