Kenneth J. Gleason

INDEPENDENCE, Kan.—Services for Dr. Kenneth J. Gleason, 62, of Independence will be at 10 a.m. Friday in the Church of the Epiphany, Episcopal, with burial in the Altoona Cemetery. He died at his home Tuesday. He was an eye, ear, nose and throat specialist, who had practiced here until 1946.

The son of John J. and Matie J. Dumars Gleason, he was born Aug. 22, 1902 in Topeka. He was a graduate of the University of Kansas and of the K. U. School of Medicine, and interned in a Kansas City hospital.

In World War II he served in the U.S. Medical Corps from December 1940 to September 1946 and attained the rank of lieutenant colonel.

Dr. Gleason was a member of the Church of the Epiphany, Episcopal, and a former member of the vestry. He was a member of local, state and national medical associations; Shrine and Rotary Club in Independence; and Masonic bodies in Topeka.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Kathleen Gleason of the home; a daughter, Mrs Ralph (Jacque) Buckner of Stillwater, Okla.; a stepson, Jerry Hall of Severy; four grandchildren; and his mother, Mrs Matie Gleason, and a sister, Mrs. Francis Goodwin, both of Topeka.

The Potts Funeral Home of Independence is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Anna W. Gleason

STILLWATER, Okla. — Mrs. Anna Williams Gleason, 72, died Thursday in a hospital here.

She was born Oct. 16, 1905 in Topeka, Kan. She lived in Topeka until 1931 when she moved to Manhattan, Kan. She moved to Independence, Kan. in 1945 and then to Stillwater in 1959.

She was a member of Daughters of the American Revolution, Order of the Eastern Star and Daughters of American Colonist. She was a secretary for the home economics department at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater before she retired.

She was married to Kenneth Gleason May 11, 1923, at Topeka. He died March 3, 1965.

She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Jacqueline Buckner, Stillwater.

Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, Stillwater. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery in Topeka.

Strode Funeral Home, Stillwater, is in charge of arrangements.
