Dr. and Mrs. Golden L. Woolf will observe their 50th wedding anniversary, March 31.
Golden L. Woolf was born in Millville, Utah on Dec. 13, 1891, to Martin Woolf and Roseltha Hyde. Beth Coombs Woolf was born at Nephi to Mark Anthony Coombs and Henrietta McCune.
They were married on March 31, 1916, at Cardston, Alberta, Canada. They spent most of their youth and early married life in Cardston and Magrath, Alberta. Their three children, Aenone, Wilbur C., and Henry M. were born to them while living in Cardston.
Dr. and Mrs. Woolf have long been active in LDS Chrch activities and presided over the French Mission on two occasions, and then spent four years in Iran as an advisor in Teacher Education to the government of Iran.
Dr. Woolf has been a faculty member of the Brigham Young University since 1933 and has been Professor in Teacher Education having received his doctorate from the University of California.
Dr. and Mrs. Woolf make their home at 627 E. 700 N., while Aenone, wife of Dr. M.G. Christensen, and Dr. Wilbur C. Woolf, live in Mesa, Ariz., and Col. Henry M. Woolf lives in San Antonia, Tex. They have 15 grandchildren.

Beth C. Woolf is celebrating her 80th birthday. An open house is being held in her honor on Saturday from 5 till 8 p.m., at the Ninth019th Ward Chapel, 667 No. 600 E., in Provo. All of her friends are invited to attend.
Mrs. Woolf was bron in Nephi on June 6, 1893. Her parents were Mark Anthony Coombs and Henrietta McCune Coombs. She moved to Cardston, Alberta, Canada as a child where she spent her youth and early married life.
She married Golden L. Woolf and she is the mother of three children: Aenone, wife of Dr. M.G. Christensen and Dr. Wilbur C. Woolf, who both live in Mesa, Ariz., and Col. Henry M. Woolf, who lives in San Antonia, Texas. She has 15 grandchildren adn 11 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Woolf has always been active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served in several leadership capacities.
She accompanied her husband to France where he presided over the French LDS Mission, on two different occasions. They also were in Iran for four years where Dr. Woolf was an advisor in teacher education to the government of Iran.

Dr. Golden L. Woolf, 74, Provo, prominent LDS Church leader and educator, died this morning at the Utah Valley Hospital of complications following a ruptured appendix.
He was born Dec. 13, 1891, in Millville, Cache County, the son of Martin and Roseltha Hyde Woolf. In 1889 he moved with his parents to Cardston, Alberta, Canada, where he completed his high school work in Cardston and Lethbride.
He married Beth Coombs.
Dr. Woolf served in the Swiss-German Mission in 1911 for 33 months. On his return from his mission he began his teaching career.
In 1929, while principal of the Magrath schools, he was called to serve as president of the French Mission, where he served until 1933. Upon returning, he came to Provo where he became principal of the B Y High School, which position he held for several years.
In 1940, Mr. Woolf, received his doctor's degree in education from the University of California in Berkely.
He becam prinicpal of the Japanese relocation school in Topaz, Utah, in 1943.
In 1944 he became Professor of Education and Chairman of the Secondary Teacher Department at the Brigham Young University.
For several years he was a member of the Northwest Accrediting Association for High Education.
In 1947 the East Provo Stake was created, which included at that time the BYU campus. Dr. Woolf was called as president of the stake. In 1950 he was called again as president of the French Mission, where he served until 1954.
From 1957 to 1961, he served in Iran as chairman of a group of BYU professors under a three-way contract among the U. S. Government, the Iranian Government and the BYU. The professors were advisors to the Iranian Government in setting up an improved program in teacher education.
In 1954 he was ordained as patriarch to serve in the BYU Thirf and Fifth Stakes.
Survivors include his wife of Provo; one daughter, Mrs. M. G. (Aenone) Christensen; two sons, Dr. Wilbur Coombs Woolf of Mesa, Ariz., and Col. Henry McCune Woolf of the U. S. Air Force, stationed in San Antonio, Tex.; 15 grandchildren; one sister, Hattie rimhall, and one brother, Lyle K. Woolf, both of Salt Lake City, a sister, Roseltha H. Eldredge of Seattle, Wash., and a brother J. F. Woolf of Richmond, Calif.
Funeral services will be conducted THursday at noon in the Provo Ninth Ward Chapel, 667 N. 600 E., with Bishop Orrin H. Jackson, conducting.
Friends may call at the Berg Mortuary of Provo, Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday until 11:30 a.m.
Burial will be in the Provo City Cemetery.

MESA, Arix. — Fanny Elizabeth "Beth" Coombs Woolf, 81, Provo, died in the Lutheran Hospital in Mesa Saturday of complications following surgery.
She was a native of Nephi and had lived in Provo for many years.
Mrs. Woolf was born June 6, 1893 to Mark Anthony and Henrietta McCune Coombs. She married Golden LeGrand Woolf on March 31, 1916 in the Cardston, Alberta, LDS Temple, and he died Oct. 11, 1966.
As a young girl, she moved with her family to Canada. From 1933 to 1974 Mrs. Woolf lived in Provo, except for some years she spent in France while her husband was LDS mission president there. She also spent four years in Iran where her husband supervised a contract group from Brigham Young University with the National Teachers College of Iran.
She always was active in the church auxiliaries. She belong to several clubs in Provo, and served as president of the Nelke Club.
Survivors includ two sonad and one daughter, Dr. Wilbut C. Woolf and Mrs. M.G. (Aenone) Christensen, both of Mesa, and Col. (Ret.) Henry M. (Mack) Woolf of San Antonio, Tex.; 15 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; one brother and four sisters, Mrs. Thomas (Ida) Woolsey, Provo; M. Vernon Coombs and Mrs Retta Allen, both of Salt Lake City; Mrs. Alma Hansen and Mrs. Ruth Kearl, both of Cardston.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Provo Ninth Ward chapel, 700 n. 600 E. Friends may call at the Berg Mortuary in Provo Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday at the ward chapel prior to services. Burial will be in Provo City Cemetery.
