E. Lucile Brown 100, passed away April 17, 2007. She was the daughter of the late Ernest T. Brown and Ruth (McClung) Brown. Miss Brown graduated from Immaculate Conception Academy in Oldenberg, Indiana. The school was a boarding school for girls and was taught by Franciscan nuns. Lucile found happiness within her family, especially with her two sisters. The three Brown sisters graduated together from St. Vincent Hospital Nursing program in Indianapolis. After graduation, she spent her nursing career working in the school system as a school nurse. Throughout her life, she loved to travel. Lucile traveled all over the world, including traveling to the North and South poles. She was a member of Internationally Yours, a women's organization for international friendships. She was full of life and had an unquenchable curiosity. She devoted her life to helping others. Lucile appreciated a challenge and loved taking risks. She had a strong and independent personality and will be greatly missed by all who shared in her life. Lucile was preceded in death by her sister, A. Josephine Brown; brother, Herbert Brown and long time friend, Dr. Frances T. Brown. Survivors include sister, Frances M. Brown; brother, William T. Brown (Helen); niece, Robin Elaine Madden (Dennis); cousin, June Vos (Paul). Family and friends will gather Friday, April 20, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with funeral service beginning at 1 p.m. in the Leppert Mortuary, Nora Chapel, 740 East 86th Street, Indianapolis.
