CHARLES R. ALLEN

Charles R. Allen, 65, of 2323 South Hampton, died at 7:15 Monday morning in his home after a long illness.

Mr. Allen retired six years ago from the U.S. Medical Center where he had been employed for 32 years. He was a senior correctional officer at the time of his retirement. Mr. Allen was a native of Madison, Wisc., and moved from Madison to Springfield in 1938.

Survivors include his wife, Jeanette; two sons, William E. of the home, and Dr. Charles S. Allen, Baraboo, Wisc.; a sister, Mrs. Duke Slater, Miami, Fla.; and three grandchildren.

Arrangements will be announced by Ralph-Thieme.
