An approaching marriage of wide interest here is that of Miss Margaret Alice Edmund, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles E. Edmund, Racine, and Harold Sylvester Allen, son of Prof. and Mrs. Charles E. Allen, 2014 Chamberlain ave., which will take place Nov. 21 at 4:30 p. m. in the First Presbyterian church in Racine. The Rev. Irwin E. Bradfield will read the service.
Miss Edmund, who was graduated form the University of Wisconsin in 1934, has asked her former room-mate, Miss Anna Moses, now a graduate student at the university, to be her maid of honor. The bridesmaids will be her two sisters, Jane, a junior at the University of Wisconsin, and Kathryn, a senior at Carroll college, Waukesha. Faith Jennings, small niece of Mr. Allen, will be the flower girl.
Charles Allen, Madison, will be his brother's best man, and the ushers will be Miss Edmund's brother, James, and Theodore Savides.
A reception for 100 guests will follow the ceremony. When Mr. Allen and his bride return from a wedding trip to St. Louis, Mo., they will reside in Chicago, where Mr. Allen is employed in the railway mail service.
Miss Edmund attended Beloit college for two years before transferring to the university. She is a member of Kappa Delta sorority. Mr. Allen, who received both is B. A. and M. A. degrees from Wisconsin, is a member of Delta Upsilon fraternity.
The wedding of the young people on Saturday will draw a large number of guests from Madison, Milwaukee, Waukesha, Fond du Lac and Wauwatosa.

BARABOO — Harold S. Allen, age 76, of Baraboo, died on October 13, 1985, at St. Clare Hospital. He was born in Madison on September 10, 1909, the son of Charles and Genevieve (Sylvester) Allen. He married Margaret Edmund on November 21, 1936, and was employed as a Railway Postal Clerk for over 30 years with the U.S. Postal Department. He was a member of the Fort Nightly Literary Club having served in all its elected offices. He was a past elder and trustee of the First Presbyterian Church and past President of the Wisconsin Friends of our Native Landscape, and a member of the International Crane Foundation. He received is Masters and Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Wisconsin and was a member of the Delta Upsilon Fraternity. Besides his wife Margaret, he is survived by a son Richard (Janet) of Bloomington, Minnesota; a daughter, Jean Allen of Madison; a grandson, Ross of Bloomington, Minnesota; and a sister, Mrs. Edith Slater of Miami, Florida. He was preceded in death by this brother, Charles. Funeral services will be held in the Hanson Funeral Home, on Wednesday, October 16, at 1:00 p.m., with Reverend David Gilmore officiating. Visitation will be from 7:00-9:00 p.m., on Tuesday evening at the funeral home. Interment will be at Walnut Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Wisconsin Heart Association.

BARABOO — Margaret E. ALlen, age 83, of Baraboo, Wisconsin, died on Saturday, February 10, 1996 at St Clare Hospital. She was born on September 4, 1912, in Lansing, Michigan, the daughter of Charles E. and Kathryn (Mitchell) Edmund. She married Harold Allen on November 21, 1936, in Racine, Wisconsin. He preceded her in death on October 13, 1985. She worked as the local correspondent for the Capital Times for over 20 years. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church and had served as a church elder. She was active as an election volunteer for many years and was a member of AAUW, Inter Se, Fortnightly Literary Club, Sauk County Writer's Club, a founding member of the Baraboo Theater Guild, a founding member of the International Crane Foundation, a longtime member of the Wisconsin Friends of Our Native Landscape, and a volunteer with the American Red Cross. SHe is survived by her son, Richard (Janet) Allen of Burnsville, Minnesota; her daughter, Jean Allen of Madison; her grandson, Ross Allen of Burnsville, Minnesota; a brother, James (Olive) Edmund of Boulder, Colorado; two sisters, Kathryn (Theodore) Savides of Merrimac, Wisconsin and Jane King of Columbus, Ohio; and other relatives and many friends. Funeral services will be held in First Presbyterian Church on Wednesday, February 14, 1996, at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor David Gilmore officiating. Interment will take place in Walnut Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service on Wednesday. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Fund.
