Eugene E. Amos

Aug. 6, 1913 — Nov. 12, 1993

Eugene Eldon Amos, 80, of Groveland, died Friday at his home.

Mr. Amos was a native of La Grande, Ore. He lived in Groveland 33 years. He was a custodian for the city of San Jose for 20 years. He was a member of the American Association of Retired Persons. He also belonged to the Independent Order of Foresters.

He is survived by his wife, Anna "Vickie" Amos of Groveland; children, Ken Amos of Groveland, Vallory DeJong of Modesto, Leland Amos of Georgia and Victor Amos of Early Intake; brothers, Norman Amos of Greenville and Leonard Amos of Modesto; and 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Columbia City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 p.m to 8 p.m. today at Heuton Memorial Chapel, Sonora.

Remembrances may be made to the Visiting Nurses Association-Hospice of the Sierra, P.O. Box 4805, Sonora 95730-1805.

Anna Victoria "Vickie" Cole Amos, 87, of Groveland died Friday at her home.

Mrs. Amos was a native of Indiana and lived in Groveland for 44 years. She owned El-Vic's Ranch House Restaurant for five years and previously worked at Buck Meadows Lodge and Boise Cascade Development. She was a member of Big Oak Rebekah Lodge 259, and active with the Girl Scouts and Theta Roe Girls Club.

She is survived by her children, Ken Amos and Kent Amos, both of Groveland, Lee Amos of Georgia and Vallory De John of Waterford; sister, Dorothy Cole of Waterford; and 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eldon Amos.

A graveside service will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at Columbia City Cemetery, Columbia. Visitation from 1 to 3 p.m. Wednesday at Heuton Memorial Chapel, Sonora.
