CHARLES ALTON ASHCRAFT was born November 14, 1859 in Kirtland, Lake, Ohio,¹⁵³² and died July 11, 1934 in Edgewater, Volusia, Florida.¹⁵³² He is buried in Maple Hill Cemetery, Munson Township, Geauga, Ohio.⁴⁵⁶

He married LUELLA L. BISHOP on April 30, 1890 in Cuyahoga County, Ohio,²³⁷³ daughter of EMELINE C. STANLEY and ORINAND AZRO BISHOP. She was born in June, 1864 in Ohio, and died March 15, 1954.⁴⁵⁶ She is buried in Maple Hill Cemetery, Munson Township, Geauga, Ohio.⁴⁵⁶

HEIGHTS' FIRST GROCER

C. A. Ashcraft Dies; Opened Store 30 Years Ago.

Charles A. Ashcraft, 75, who formerly owned the only grocery in Cleveland Heights, located at Mayfield and Superior Roads, died Wednesday at his home in Edgewater, Fla. Thirty years ago, when he first opened his store, that corner was the location of the Superior Road toll gate.

Mr. Ashcraft died after an illness of two months and is survived by his wife, Luella, and two sons, Harold B. and Dutton.

Funeral services will be at the Rinear-Lambert Funeral Home, 13231-33 Euclid Avenue, East Cleveland, Monday afternoon at 2. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery, Fowlers Mill, O.
