MRS. BELLE BEATY DIES AT AGE OF 81

Funeral at 2 p. m. Saturday at Liberty Center

Mrs. Belle Beaty, 81, died at 6 p. m. Wednesday at the Edward Beaty home, 621 Cline street, after a serious illness of four weeks. She had been ill of paralysis for three years.

Mrs. Beaty was horn in Huntington county May 31, 1864, to William and Mary Barton Hoffman. Her marriage was to John E. Beaty November 11, 1890, in Liberty township, Wells county. She was a resident of Huntington county for the last 10 years.

Mrs. Beaty was a member of the Methodist church at Liberty Center.

Surviving are the husband, two daughters. Mrs. Mae Mounsey, Bluffton, and Mrs. Crystal Warner, this city, and three sons, Everett B. Beaty, Fred E. Beaty and Edward W. Beaty, all of Huntington. There are 13 grandchildren, two great grandchildren, a sister, Mrs. Lizzie Stepp, Poneto; three half- sisters, Mrs. Ollie Blonde, and Mrs. Nellie Gaiser, Warren, and Mrs. Nettie Pond, Bluffton, and a half-brother, Elias Huffman, Basil, Ohio.

The body was returned Thursday afternoon from the Bergman funeral home at Warren to the Edward Beaty home where friends may call.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p. m. Saturday at the Methodist church at Liberty Center with the Rev. P. Virgil Harris, this city, and the Rev. Albert Clarke, pastor at Liberty Center, officiating.

Burial will be at the Woodlawn cemetery at Warren.

JOHN E. BEATY, 84, VICTIM OF ILLNESS

Funeral Services Set for Monday Afternoon

John E. Beaty, 84, retired farmer, a resident of this city for several year, died at 3 a. rn. Saturday at. the Lutheran hospital in Fort Wayne where he had undergone surgery for cancer. He had been in failing health several years and seriously ill for weeks.

Mr. Beaty was born April 13, 1864, in Huntington county to the Rev. Robert Beaty and Lydia A. Lippy Beaty, and was married November 11, 1890, in Liberty township, Wells county, near Mt. Zion, to Belle Huffman. Mrs. Beaty died September 19, 1945.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Claude Mousey, Bluffton and Mrs. Frank Warner, this city, three sons, Everett and Fred Beaty, this city, and Ed Beaty, Phoenix, Ariz.; 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was the last of his family and had lived in Rock Creek township, since 1912, when he moved from Wells county.

The body has been removed to the home of the son, Fred, 44 East Taylor street where friends may call. Funeral services will he held at 2 p. m. Monday at the Liberty Center Methodist church in Wells county and interment will be in Woodlawn cemetery at Warren.
