Floyd Bitner

FAIRMOUNT — Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday for Floyd Bitner, 68, Ferndale, Mich., a native of Grant County, who died Sunday morning in a Detroit hospital following an extended illness.

Services will be held at the Nolder Memorial Chapel in Fairmount with the Rev. Frank Roy, pastor of the Fairmount Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Park Cemetery.

Mr. Bitner was born near Fairmount. He moved to the Detroit area in 1920. He was a retired tool and die maker.

Survivors include the widow, Hazel M.; two sons, John L. and Donald L.; three daughters, Gwenivere, Betty and Dorothy, all of the Detroit area; a foster mother, Mrs. Nora Foster, Fairmount; one brother, Herman, Detroit; a sister, Eva Smith, Hamilton, Ohio, and several grandchildren.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 6 p.m. today.
