George W. Stambaugh Rites At Converse

PERU—George W. Stambaugh, 82, Rt. 4., Marion, died at 4 p.m. Monday.

He was a retired farmer and a member of the Quaker Church.

Born July 1, 1887 in Wabash County, he was the son of Eli and Idela (Moore) Stambaugh.

Surviving are the widow, Chloie; eight sons, Cecil of Denver, Colo.; Donald, Amboy; Harry, Bill, Robert and Joe Earl, all of Marion; Mac, Peru; Jack of Converse; ond daughter, Barbara Broders, Jonesboro; two sisters, Hazel Bitner, Ferndale, Mich.; and Sadie Broch, Greentown; 41 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in the Larrison Funeral Home at Converse with the Rev. Paul Flowers officiating. Burial will be in the Santa Fe Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 1 p.m. today.

Amboy Native Dies In Marion

AMBOY—Mrs. Chloia Stambaugh, 79, Marion, formerly of Amboy, died at 10:40 p.m. Monday at the Marion General Hospital, following an extended illness.

She lived most of her life in the Miami County area.

Born in Amboy, Aug. 9, 1894, she was the daughter of Franklin and Pearl Minor. She was married May 16, 1912, to George W. Stambaugh, who died in 1969.

She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Barbara Borders, Swayzee; six sons, Bill Fairmount; Harry, Robert and joe Earl, all of Marion; Max, Peru; and Cecil, Denver, Colo.; two sisters, Mrs. Goldie Poreman, Converse; and Mrs. Esther Bennington, Holiday, Fla.; 42 grandchildren; and 45 great-granchildren.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Laird and Son Funeral Home, with the Rev. Myron Fuller officiating. Burial will be in the Santa Fe Cemetery.

Friends may call after noon Wednesday.
