Pearl L. Scott

1925-2014

PALMYRA - Pearl Louise Scott, 88, went home to be with the Lord September 17, 2014. She was born September 30, 1925 in Iola, Kansas, a daughter of Robert and Sarah (Rutledge) Brant. She lived in many states throughout her life and also lived in Germany. Her family settled in Palmyra in 1969. Pearl was a member, steward and taught Sunday school at the Church of the Nazarene. She also attended the Newport Church of God and most recently belonged to the Jubilee Family Worship Center. Pearl led many people to the Lord. She was a day care provider and was considered to be a 3rd grandmother to all of them. She loved and was loved by everyone she met. Pearl is survived by a son Robert Scott III of Newport; 4 daughters, Diana Young of Des Moines, Iowa, Carmen Shaw of Palmyra, May Louise and husband Jeffrey Nickerson of Palmyra; and Paula Scott of Palmyra; 12 grandchildren, Sherry, Shelly, Eddy, Veronica, Rachel, Michael, Aaron, Charlie, Jeffrey, Rebekah Louise, Andrew, and Annie; 23 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren. She will also be missed by Matt and Zac, James Ricker, Rodney Shaw and Roy Sleezer. Pearl was predeceased by her husband, Robert James Scott, Jr.; a son Ronnie Snider; a grandson, Stephen James Lundeen; 3 brothers, Bobby, Wilbur and Ralph; and 2 sisters, Hazel and Georgia. Friends may call from 10 AM to noon Monday, September 22nd at Crosby & Neal, 117 Main Street, Newport, where funeral services will be held at noon with the Rev. Scott Black officiating. Burial will be held at 10 A.M. Tuesday at the Maine Veterans' Memorial Cemetery (old yard) in Augusta.
