Services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Tuesday in the Salas Brothers Funeral Chapel for Robert James Brant, 87, who died Thursday in a Modesto rest home after a lengthy illness. Burial will be in Lakewood Memorial Park.
A native of Kansas, he had lived in Modesto 19 years and was a retired construction worker and a member of the Full Gospel Tabernacle, Modesto.
He leaves his wife, Sarah Rachel Brant of Modesto; three sons, Robert M. of Los Angeles, Rev. Wilbur J. of Oregon and Ralph E. Brant of Colorado; two daughters, Hazel F. Shane of Modesto and Pearl L. Scott of Maine; 26 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Word has been received here that Robert James Brant, a former resident of Iola, died Aug. 23 in Modesto, Calif. Burial was Aug. 28 in Lakewood Memorial Park in Modesto. Brant was married to Sarah Rachael Rutledge of Iola and they lived in Iola for a number of years. Mrs. Brant is now a resident of Chateau de Modesto Convalescent Hospital in Modesto.
