CLARENCE WILLIAM BYRD

Clarence William Byrd, 58, of 8075-C Tippecanoe, San Bernardino, died in a San Bernardino hospital Saturday. A native of Joplin, Mo., he had lived in San Bernardino for 46 years.

Byrd was a night watchman for Big Bear Lumber Co. for 6 1/2 years. He was a member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners, San Bernardino and Riverside Counties, Local 1959.

Survivors include the widow, Gladys M. Byrd; five sons, Robert K. of Chicago, Ill., Bennie E. of Blythe, Richard E. of San Bernardino, Billy E. of Bakersfield, and Carl W. of San Bernardino; three daughters, Mrs. Fred Scott and Mrs. Wayne Easley of Chicago, Ill., and Miss Betty Jean Byrd of San Bernardino; one sister, Lillian Kobler of San Bernardino; and a half-brother, Albert T. Byrd of Oakland; and 19 grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Stephens & Bobbitt Chapel. Burial will be in Mt. View Cemetery.

Gladys Byrd, San Bernardino

Gladys M. Byrd, 67, of 7087 Cedar St., San Bernardino, died Thursday in a San Bernardino hospital. She was born in Snyder, Okla., and was a 57-year resident of San Bernardino.

Survivors include five sons, Robert of Yucaipa, Bennie of Blythe, and Billy, Richard and Carl, all of San Bernardino; three daughters, Dorothy Scott of Illinois, Helen Easley of San Bernardino and Betty Ford of Maryland; a brother, Ray Wallace of San Bernardino; 24 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in the Mark B. Shaw Memorial Chapel. Private burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel after noon Monday.
