A pretty wedding was solemnized in the home of Mr. and Mrs. R. H. Grenfell, 700 Sixth Street, at 8:15 o'clock Saturday night, January 19, when Miss Shirley M. Charon exchanged nuptial vows with Mr. Alfred V. Christainsen.
The double ring ceremony was performed by the Reverend John Ryan, pastor of the First Baptist church, in the presence of twenty-two guests, including immediate relatives and friends. Immediately following the ceremony a reception was held in the Grenfell home.
The bride wore an attractive suit of officer tan, with brown and watermelon colored accessories, and corsage of gardenias. She was attended by Miss Thelma Bindley of Denver, as bridesmaid. She wore a pale blue street dress and corsage of white roses.
Mr. John Darley, brother of the bridegroom, was best man.
Mr. and Mrs. Christiansen are at present residing in Denver where both are employed.
The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Ruth M. Charon, and granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. H. Grenfell. She has made her home in Golden for the last eleven years and attended grade and high school here. She was graduated from Gloden High school in 1945, and has since been employed as bookkeeper for the Williams and Rose Electric Co., in Denver.
Mr. Christiansen is the son of Mrs. Juanita Darley of this city. Before coming here several months ago, he was employed in California. He is now working for the Colorado and Southern Railroad in Denver. He expects to return soon to the Phillippine Islands, where he was reared and educated, and will be with the International Harvester Co. in the Islands. Mrs. Christiansen will join him there later.
