Natural palms, baskets of white flowers and lighted tapers formed a picturesque setting for the marriage Saturday afternoon of Miss Frances McGuire, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Whitney S. McGuire of Robinwood, east of the city and Lt. John W. Clements, jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. John W. Clements of Reeveston road. The rites were solemnized a 4:30 o'clock in the First Presbyterian church.
Dr. H. T. Reineck, pastor of the church, was the officiating clergyman, and read the single ring ceremony before a large assembly of friends and relatives. Lighted tapers in graduated sizes and in a setting of greenery were used on the chancel rail and tapers in four seven-branch candelabra were arranged on the altar which wa banked with palms. Two large floor baskets of all white flowers including iris, gladioli, gypsophila, daisies and feverfew were at either side of the altar. A long, low basket of the flowers with a background of asparagus fern also was used in decoration. In each window of the church was a single lighted taper and reserved pews were marked with white satin bows in which were tied clusters of gypsophila and gardenias.
Preceding the ceremony a program of organ music was provided by Roland L. Nusbaum, uncle of the bride.
