Ruth Virginia Dunnington and Henry Gilliis Thompson

RUTH VIRGINIA DUNNINGTON, daughter of BETTIE DICK IRVINE and RICHARD HARRY DUNNINGTON, was born September 19, 1902,⁵⁶ and died May 28, 1970 in Waterford, New London, Connecticut.⁴² She is buried in Jordan Cemetery, Waterford, New London, Connecticut.⁴⁵⁶

She married HENRY GILLIIS THOMPSON on February 22, 1935 in Pittsburgh, Allegheny, Pennsylvania.¹⁷⁸⁸ He was born April 14, 1906 in Fairmont, Marion, West Virginia,⁷³⁷⁷ and died December 10, 1979 in Lakewood, Ocean, New Jersey.⁸³⁵² He is buried in Jordan Cemetery, Waterford, New London, Connecticut.⁴⁵⁶

Ruth Thompson

WATERFORD — Mrs. Ruth Dunnington Thompson, 66, of Perry Ave. died today at her home.

Born Sept. 19, 1903, in Fairmount, W. Va., she was the daughter of Richard and Betty Irving Dunnington.

Mrs. Thompson resided in Waterford for 14 years.

She was married to Henry G. Thompson Feb. 22, 1935, in Pittsburgh, Pa. He survives.

In addition to her husband, survivors are three sons, John of Oakdale, Bufford of Uncasville and Richard Thompson of Boston; a brother, Richard Dunnington of Columbus, Ohio, and six grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Alderson-Prentis Funeral Home, New London. Interment will be in Jordan Cemetery.

Calling hours are from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday.

Henry Thompson

WATERFORD — Henry G. Thompson, 73, of Lakewood, N.J., formerly of Perry Avenue, Waterford, died Wednesday at Paul Kimbal Hospital, Lakewood.

Mr. Thompson was a former employee of Electric Boat.

Born in Fairmont, W. Va., April 15, 1906, he had lived in Waterford fro 15 years, before moving to Lakewood about nine years ago.

His first wife, Ruth Dunnington Thompson, died in 1970.

Survivors include his wife, Mildred Jacquette Thompson; three sons: Bufford of Terryville, Richard of Salem, Mass., and John Thompson of Chesterfield; and five grandchildren.

Graveside services will be conducted Saturday in Jordan Cemetery, Waterford, at a time to be announced. The D'Elia Funeral Home, Lakewood, is in charge of arrangements.
