Monday night, at 8 o'clock in the court clerks' office in Muskogee, occurred the wedding of Miss Lexie Chilcote of Edmond, and Millard Fisher, Rev. H. L. Boston, pastor South Methodist church, officiating.
The ring ceremony was used with only the necessary witnesses being present, as the wedding came as a complete surprise to their friends both here and in Edmond, where the bride, who is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L. D. Chilcote, finished high school in 1930 and graduated from the Central State Teachers College in Edmond. In the year 1934 she received her Master's degree from the University of California.
Mrs. Fisher chose for her wedding dress a navy blue sheer crepe suit, the coat being finger-tip length. Her accessories were in navy blue.
For the past week Mrs. Fisher has been a house guest of Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Scribner, 408 South Sixth street.
Mr. Fisher is employed as jailer at the county jail.
Mr. and Mrs. Fisher are expected to arrive in Okemah this afternoon, where they will make their home.

Funeral services for Mrs. Lexie Olive Fisher, wife of Millard Fisher, 615 West Cherry, Okemah, will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday in the First Baptist church, Rev. Joe L. Ingram officiating.
Mrs. Fisher died at 10:10 a.m. today in the St. Anthony's hospital, Oklahoma City. She was 49.
Mrs. Fisher was born April 20, 1905 in McCloud, Oklahoma. She graduated from high school in Carney, Oklahoma, and received her college degree from Central State College at Edmond.
On Jun 24, 1934, she married Millard Fisher in Muskogee. She was a member of the Christian church.
Mrs. Fisher has taught school in Okfuskee county for 27 years. She taught in other schools in Oklahoma for 4 years. For the past 3 years she has been teaching at Pharoah.
She is survived by her husband, Millard, and one son, Mickey Kent, 13, of the home; one brother, Kenneth D. Chilcote, Oklahoma City; and one sister, Mrs. George Karsh, at Bartlesville.
Pallbearers will be Henry White, Jim Scribner, Nelson Lambeth, Allen L. Good, Warren Dale Igleheart and Leroy Lambeth.
Burial will be in Highland cemetery, Parks Funeral Home in charge.
