Services Held For Belle Flewelling

BELLAIRE—Funeral services for Louise Belle Flewelling were held at 10:30 a. m. January 1 from the Matthew Funeral Home, with the Rev. James R. Thomas officiating.

Burial was made at Lakeview cemetery.

Miss Flewelling passed away December 30 at the home of Mrs. Evelyn Tuller at Rapid City, where she had made her home during the past few months.

She was born September 19, 1869, to Simon and Mary Jane (Stanley) Flewelling, the oldest of nine children. Five sisters and three brothers preceded her in death in Ohio.

Miss Flewelling came to Bellaire with her parents in 1872, and lived the greatest part of her life here. She received her elementary education at the Montgomery school, northeast of Bellaire, and later attended Ferris Institute.

She taught school in Antrim county for over 30 years, with the exception of two years when she taught near Tampa, Florida.

After retiring from teaching, she attended the Palmer School of Chiropractic at Davenport, Iowa, and later practiced successfully for several years, as Dr. Belle L. Flewelling, at Charlevoix and Bellaire.

She attended the Methodist church at Bellaire for many years.

She is survived by a nephew, Simon Blake, of Bellaire, and a niece, whose address is unknown.
