Marriage Announcements and News

Daily Republican, June 26, 192212955

Flournoy-Horner

Announcements have been received of the marriage of Miss Helen Horner, youngest daughter of J. L. Horner, of Kansas City, but formerly of this place to Mr. William Raymond Flournoy, of New York City, on Thursday, June 15, 1922. The bride was raised and educated in this place, graduating from the Hartford High school with the class of 1913. Four years later she completed the musical course at Baker University. Mill Helen has a wonderful soprano voice of wide range and volume and has delighted many with her singing on the Chautauqua platform. The past two winters she has been musical director in the public and High schools at LaCygne. She is a bright capable young lady. From a little girl she has grown up in our midst, admired by both old and young alike. She has ever been a bright star in the home and now she has gone to reign as queen in her own home. The groom is a stranger to us, but judging from what the bride is worthy of, he is a fine and noble man. On account of the recent death of Mrs. Horner, only a quiet home wedding was had, with just the immediate family circle. The many friends of Miss Helen extend to her their heartiest congratulations for a long, pleasant and prosperous married life in her New York home.—Hartford Times.

The bride's many friends in this community join in congratulations and best wishes. She had charge of the music department in the Burlington high school and was very popular here.
