Dr. Franklin's Funeral To Be Tomorrow

Downtown Doctor, Lived in East End, Practiced 50 years

Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 2 p. m. in the Waples Funeral Home, Baum Boulevard and Graham Street, for Dr. Paul H. Franklin, who died yesterday after a short illness.

A native of Portsmouth, O., Dr. Franklin was a resident of Pittsburgh since 1900 and had offices in the Jenkins Arcade for the last 40 years. He was a member of the staff at West Penn Hospital.

In 1907 he served in City Council where he was instrumental in securing legislation to purify the city water system.

In 1951 he was honored by the Allegheny County Medical Society for his 50 years as a doctor in the county. Dr. Franklin was one of the founders of the Round Table Club, which was formed in the old Union restaurant and now is carried over in the Union Grill.

He was a member of the American Medical Association, Pennsylvania Medical Association and Allegheny County Medical Society.

He is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Pauline Rowland, Mrs. Russell W. McGuire and Mrs. Raymond L. Lew, all of Pittsburgh, and Mrs. Clark R. Donahue, of Jacksonville, Fla.; two sons, Clifford S. of Pittsburg and Paul H. of Spokane, Wash. Burial will be in Jefferson Memorial Park.
