A "pound party" was held at the residence of Alonzo French and Mr. and Mrs. Abel H. French on Charles street, Monday evening. The party, some 70 in number, started from the residence of Henry Classon, corner of Winthrop and Forest streets. Games, refreshments and dancing to music by Harrington's orchestra made a pleasant evening.

Mrs. E. I. French Dies at Nashua.

Mrs. Elizabeth I. French, widow of the late Abel H. French, died Wednesday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Charles W. Classon, 25 Blossom street, at the age of 81 years. Death was due to a general breaking down of the system. She had been ill in bed about three weeks. She was born in Ashburnham, Mass., and was the daughter of Aaron Davis. She lived there until she married Mr. French, who died about 12 years ago. Their wedded life had been most pleasant. With him she resided in several places, coming here 24 years ago from Antrim, when he established .... brothers surviving, CHarles and George W. of New York, Henry A. of Boston, and Levi M. of Worcester, Mass. Four children of Mr. and Mrs. French survive: Alonzo H. of Fitchburg, Menzell S. of Hudson, and Walter C. French, and Mrs. Classon of this city. There are seven grandchildren.—Nashua Telegraph, Aug. 31.

The funeral was held Friday afternoon. Three of her sons and a son-in-law were the bearers.
