A. H. French, B.&M. Carshops Foreman, Dead

Alonzo F French, former assistant general foreman at the B & M carshops in East Fitchburg, died last night at his home, 34 Maple street, after a long illness. He was employed by the railroad for 42 years.

He was born in Westminster 79 years ago, the son of Abel and Elizabeth (Davis) French. He came to Fitchburg when a boy and made his home here from that time.

He is survived by his wife, Carrie (Billings), two brothers, Walter C. and Mendell, and a sister, Mrs. C W Classon, all of Nashua, N H.

He was a member of the New England Railroad veterans association, the Railroad Employes Relief association, Mt Roulstone lodge, I O O F E Victoria Morse Rebekah lodge and King David encampment.

The funeral will be Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Bolles Funeral home, Burial will be in Laurel Hill cemetery.

Mrs. Alonzo H. French

Mrs. Carrie B. (Billings) French, 91, widow of Alonzo H. French, 34 Maple street, died yesterday afternoon in the Guenette rest home after a long illness. She was born in this city, a daughter of the late Samuel A. and Ann (Goodridge) Billings, and had always lived here.

She was a member of the First Parish church.

Mrs. French is survived by a brother, Fred L. Billings, of this city.

The funeral will be in the Sawyer funeral home Friday at 10:45 a. m. with burial in Laurel Hill cemetery.
