SWEET HOME — (Special) — Leslie J. Gatchell and Vega Wells of Lebanon were married Tuesday afternoon at the George Corner residence, Rev. John Rittermeyer officiating. The bride was attended by her sister, Mrs. Gladys Andreason and George Gatchell brother of the groom was best man. The newly weds will make their home on a farm near Lebanon.

Funeral services for Leslie Gatchell, 71, of 60 Berry St., who died Friday at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Corvallis, will be 2 p.m. today at the Huston Funeral Home. The Lebanon Elks Lodge will officiate, with burial following at the Lebanon Odd Fellows Cemetery.
He was born July 17, 1910, at Hood River. He came to Lebanon when he was an infant, and lived here since. mr. Gatchell had worked for several seed companies, and was last employed by Champion International for 23 years, retiring in 1976.
He married Vega Wells March 26, 1935, at Sweet Home. She survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Doug Gatchell of Lebanon, and Jack and Bob Gatchell, both of Albany; three brothers, Claire Gatchell of Siletz, Melvin Gatchell of the Dalles, and Glenn Gatchell of Scio, and six grandchildren.

LEBANON — Vega Catchell, 74, died Wednesday in Albany.
She was born in Somerville, N.J., and come to Lebanon in 1932 from Bell, Calif. She was past president of the Albany Elkettes and a member of the Pearl Rebekah Lodge, Lebanon. She married Leslie Gatchell on March 26, 1935, in Sweet Home; he died in 1982.
Survivors include her sons, Doug of Lebanon, and Jack and Bob, both of Albany; brothers, Eddie Andreson of Woodland, Wash., and Robert Wells and John Wells, both of Lebanon; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday in Huston mortuary. Interment will be in Lebanon Odd Fellows Cemetery. Visiting will be from 2 to 8 p.m. today in the mortuary.
