Mrs. Willard W. Morse, 1635 W. Twenty-sixth street, has issued 100 invitations for the tea which she will give from 3 to 6 p. m. Saturday at her home for Miss Betty Ann Grimes, daughter of Mrs. Gordon Grimes, 2923 W. Forty-third street. Miss Grimes will graduate from West high school later tis month.
Mrs. Grimes will receive the guests with her daughter and Mrs. Morse. Assisting in the dining room will be Mmes. Harvard Rockwell, Herbert M. Richardson, Willard A. Morse, Guilford A. Morse, George El Cook, Alden Elwell and George Struthers. Younger girls who will assist throughout the rooms are the Misses Peggy Waldin, Mildred Forster, Phyllis Yohe and Helen Gilmorel.

91, peacefully passed away at her family's home on August 18, 2006. Betty was the beloved daughter of Gordon and Margaret (Hush) Grimes, decease; the loving sister of the late Alden Grimes; beloved sister-in-law to the late Rochell (Berry) Grimes; much loved aunt to Mary Beth (Grimes) O'Neill (Bob), Jeffrey, the late Judy and Susan Grimes; great aunt to Paull Grimes. Born Sept. 4, 1914, Betty enjoyed a life full of wonderful friends, neighbors and family. Her interests included music, gardening and traveling. Europe, China, India, the Orient, Alaska, Hawaii and Australia were among some of the many places she visited, but one of her favorite spots remained Evanston, IL, where her brother Alden and his wife Rochelle resided with her nieces and nephew. Betty was a lifetime resident of Mpls. Employed by Campbell-Mithun, Inc. for more than 30 years. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Episcopal Church and was active in many local and national organizations including the Red Cross, United Fund, American Assoc. of University Women, and the Woman's Club of Mpls. A well-known resident in the Linden Hills area, Betty was often spotted on her front porch delighting in conversation with the young and the old alike. She was respected by her many gracious neighbors who thought of her as a friend, confidant and grandma to the neighborhood kids. During her final years, Betty was also luck enough to have "her angels" Jo, Marie, Cheryl, and Nikki, the special caregivers who assisted her with her daily activities. The family and friends are most gracious for their kindnesses.
