W. F. Guerker

Cremation and private inurnment are planned for William F. Guerker, 63, of 1115 Madison Ave., a native and lifetime San Diegan who died Sunday in a hospital.

Guerker was a city bus driver 23 years. Previously, he was employed in the circulation department of the old San Diego Sun from 1927 until it was merged with the Evening Tribune. Guerker was a member of San Diego Eagles Lodge 35 years.

Surviving are his widow, Dorothy; two daughters, Mrs. Marjorie Bowman and Mrs. Wilhemina Broderick, both of San Diego; five grandchildren, and a great-grandchild. The family suggested memorial contributions to the Arthritis Foundation.

Survivors include 2 daughters Jean (Lee) Bowman, San Diego and Billie (Bill) Broderick, El Cajon, sister Emily Serena, Santa Barbara, brother Pat Colton, Lake Havasu, AZ, 7 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren & 5 grt-grt-grandchildren, several nieces & nephews. Memorial Service Sat. Oct. 24, 1998 at 3 pm Mt. Hope Cemetery 3751 Market St., SD. In lieu of flowers, family suggests contributions to your favorite church or charity.
