Randolph Register, April 1, 19103339
Henry Hall, one of the best known residents of this section and a pioneer resident of East Randolph, died at his home in Hall street on Saturday. Death was due to a gradual wasting of the vital forces incident to advancing years and came painlessly.
Mr. Hall was the son of Erastus and Emeline Hall, and was born in the town of Coldspring, April 26, 1832. On February 21, 1854, he was united in marriage to Marcia T. Hanford of Leon, to which union two children were born, Jennie L., now deceased, and Harry Hall of Randolph.
Mrs. Hall died some years after the birth of their children, and her husband from the time of her death made his home with his mother up to February 19, 1898, when he was united in marriage with Emeline Whitney, who survives.
Besides the widow and son mentioned above he leaves two brothers, Milo Hall of East Randolph and Lyman Hall of West Philadelphia, Pa.
In earlier days Mr. Hall was a member of the celebrated Hall band and orchestra of East Randolph which furnished music for entertainments throughout western New York and Pennsylvania, especially in the oil regions, where the services of the organization were greatly in demand. He was an expert violinist and had a wide acquaintance in this section. Many friends will sympathise with the family in their loss.
The funeral was held from the late home on Monday afternoon and was quite largely attended. Rev. T. B. Cooper, pastor of the M. E. church, officiated and burial was made in the East Randolph cemetery.
