The following announcements received by Houston friends are self-explanatory: "Mr. and Mrs. John H. Parker announce the marriage of their daughter, Helen, to Mr. John R. Hall, on Monday, the second day of May, 1932, Bernalillo, New Mexico."
Then the following clipping from an Albuquerque, New Mexico, paper, gives us more details:
Mrs. David Grammer, 212 South Mesa avenue, announced the marriage of her sister, Miss Helen Parker, and Mr. John R. Hall on May 2 at an evening bridge party Thursday at the Grammer home.
Tiny brides and grooms, marked 'Helen' and 'John,' told of the wedding. Cards were followed by a supper. Guests were sorority sisters of the bride, members of the Beta Sigma Omricon sorority, and close friends.
Mr. and Mrs. Hall were married at Bernalillo. Attendants were Miss Mildred Burke and Albert Bankston.
The bride was graduated this June from the University of New Mexico. She spent the winter with her sister and Mr. Grammer from her home in Houston, Mo., where her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Parker, reside. Previous to this winter she had taught school at Houston, while five years before she had attended university here.
Mr. Hall is from Santa Fe, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Hall. He is a senior at the university here, a member of the college of Engineering.
The bride is the youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John H. Parker, esteemed Houston citizens. Helen is a dear, lovable girl who has grown from babyhood into girlhood and then to young womanhood right here in our midst. She is pleasant and agreeable at all times and is one of the favorite girls of the town as well as a favorite among the young people and the children. She graduated from Houston High, has attended college in New Mexico and has taught in the city schools here, retiring last year to take higher work in New Mexico. She was again engaged to teach in our schools next year, being always popular in school work, in church work and in the young people's social circle. With the groom we are not acquainted, but his judgment in the selection of a life companion is to be admired. The Herald joins in most hearty and sincere congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Hall, and we but convey the sentiment of this entire community.
