Roy Henderson

MONTROSE — Roy Bryson Henderson, 62, who lived most of his life in this community, died this morning at the General Rose Hospital in Denver.

He was born Sept. 15, 1901 in Solomon, Kan., and moved to Montrose with his parents when he was six years old.

He was a caretaker of the Taylor Reservoir for the Uncompahgre Valley Water Users' Assn., and belonged to the Methodist Church and the Riverside Grange.

He married Edna Foran in Montrose on Sept. 16, 1938. She survives. Other survivors include two sons, John and tom, both of Denver; his mother, Mrs. Kate Carkhuff Henderson of California; two brothers, Walter of Nederland, and Irwin of Costa Mesa, Calif.; and two sisters, Mrs. Robert Roatcap of Englewood, and Mrs. Kathryn Walker of Santa Ana, Calif.

Funeral services will be at the Methodist Church at 2 p.m. Monday. Rev. L. J. Stevenson will officiate. Burial will be at Uncompahgre Memorial Gardens. The Montrose Funeral Home is in charge.
