The wedding of Miss Gladys Harlan, daughter of Mrs. Bessie Harlan of Farmington, and Bill Hickman, son of Mr. and Mrs. R. O. Hickman of Bentonville, took place Saturday night at 8 o'clock at the home of the officiating minister, the Rev. O. L. Lierly. The bride wore a two-piece blue dress.
Mrs. Hickman will be graduated from Farmington High School in April. Mr. Hickman, who served in the Army a year, is employed in Centerton.

William Eugene Hickman, son of Mr. and Mrs. R. O. Hickman, residents of Arcadia, Nebraska, for many years, was born in Arcadia August 27, 1927 where he grew to young manhood.
Bill had not been well for several years, but fought for strength and life to be able to live and enjoy life as others.
He was very ambitious and undertook the work and jobs of a well person.
He underwent surgery on his heart in March of 1951 to prolong his life.
This spring he went to the west coast to see if his health would improve. There he met and married Alice Green of Eugene, Oregon, on August 22, 1953.
Bill made friends wherever he went and he will be greatly missed by all.
He departed this life on earth for his home above where there is no suffering, the 19th day of November, 1953, at the Veterans hospital in Portland, Oregon.
He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Alice, of Eugene, Oregon; his father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. R. O. Hickman of Alexandria, Nebraska; his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John C. Hogue of Rogers, Arkansas; his brother and wife, Bob and Marie of Alexandria, Nebraska; his brother and wife, Max and Miriam, of Comstock, Nebraska; his sister and husband, Ilene and George Stutzman of Grafton, Nebraska; his nieces and nephews, George H., Robert, Susan, Jimmy, and Michael Stutzman, Miriam Ann, Bonny, and Max Jr., Hickman; his aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Noel Hogue and Bryce of Arcadia, Nebraska, and many friends.
Funeral services were held at the Methodist church in Arcadia, Nebraska, Tuesday, November 24, 1953, at 2 p. m. John Siner officiated. Carl Easterbrook sang "Beyond the Sunset" and "Abide With Me," and he was accompanied at the organ by Mrs. Esther Mason. Burial was in the Arcadia cemetery with the Hastings-Pearson Mortuary in charge of arrangements.
He was carried to his last resting place by friends of the American Legion. He was honored by military rites at the graveside.
