Edwin Hill And Ruth Helen Wheeler Are Married On Easter

Their many friends will be surprised to learn that Edwin Hill and Miss Ruth Helen Wheeler quietly stole away and were married in Oakland Easter Sunday.

Mrs. Hill is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. B. E. Wheeler of Lodi, where her father is connected with the Holt Manufacturing company of Stockton. She has a wide circle of friends in Modesto, having been employed with the telephone company for some time and is a sister to Mrs. Charles Smith of the Burroughs Adding Machine company of this city.

Hill is the son of the H. James Hill of Leon avenue. He is a graduate of Modesto high school and has been in the employ of the News-Herald for several years.

McMINNVILLE — Ruth Helen Hill, 86, died Monday in McMinnville.

She was born in Beatrice, Neb. She married M. Edwin Hill on April 15, 1927 in Oakland, Calif. She came here in 1984. She was a homemaker. She traveled extensively with her husband and had been to every state and province.

Survivors include her husband; daughter, Helen Jeanne Marquiss of Wheaton, Md.; brother, Warren Wheeler of McMinnville and sisters, Lucille Phelps of Keizer and Grace Smith of McMinnville.

Services will begin at 11 a.m. Friday at Scott-McGhehey mortuary. Interment will be private. Visiting hours will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. today and Thursday at the mortuary.
