Dorothy Thompson Becomes Bride of A. E. Houston

The marriage of Miss Dorothy Beatrice Thompson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Courtland Stokes Thompson, of 39 Hunter street, Woodbury, and Mr. Albert Earle Houston, son of Mrs. Eric Houston, of Los Angeles, Calif., formerly of Woodbury, took place Saturday evening at seven o'clock in Kemble Memorial Methodist Church, Woodbury, with the Rev. Fred Stacey, pastor of the church, officiating.

Mr. George F. Davis, of Woodbury, was at the console and accompanied Mrs. Gladys Cloud Spirito, of that town, in vocal solos.

The bride was given in marriage by her father. She had chosen a gown of traditional white satin, the bodice designed with a Peter Pan collar of rose point lace, which also formed the back of the bodice, and long sleeves ending in points over the hands. The full skirt, made with a panel of lace down the front, ended in a train and her fingertip veil of net fell from a halo of white satin. She carried a bouquet of white roses and lilies of the valley.

Miss Marion Ventre, of the Bronx, N. Y., was maid of honor in a frock of orchid starched chiffon made with a sweetheart neckline, short puffed sleeves and full skirt which featured ruffles of self-material at the hipline. The bridesmaid, Mrs. William Lowndes, of Ozone Park, L. I., cousin of the bride, wore a model similar to that of the honor attendant, but in yellow. Both wore coronets of pleated chiffon to match their gowns and carried bouquets of yellow roses and lavender sweet peas.

Mr. Roger E. Harmon, of Los Angeles, acted as best man for the bridegroom. Mr. William M. Park, of Ozone Park, Mr. Robert L. Thompson, of Wilmington, Del., both cousins of the bride, ushered.

Mrs. Thompson wore a teal crepe dress and white accessories and the mother of the bridegroom, an aqua crepe dress, with white accessories. Their corsages were of gardenias.

A reception followed at the Homestead, Woodbury. After a wedding trip, Mr. and Mrs. Houston will reside in Los Angeles.
