Rural Wedding Pretty Affair

WEST LEBANON, June 7.—A pretty wedding was solemnized Wednesday afternoon at 3 o'clock at Roselawn Farm, home of Mr. and Mrs. John B. Crone, three miles northeast of here, when their daughter, Anna Jean, became the bride of Park Hunter, son of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Hunter. Rev. Fred Longwell read the ceremony. Miss Betty Hunter, pianist, played.

The bride wore a tan print with beige accessories and a corsage of baby breath, white roses and Stepfonia. Her attendant, Miss Corrine Hamilton, a cousin, wore a white costume with navy blue accessories and a corsage of roses and sweetpeas. J. Hall Crone, brother of the bride, was best man.

Iced refreshments were served with Mrs Wilbur Astell, an aunt of the bride presiding at the serving table. Mr. and Mrs. Hunter left for Lake Wawasee and Sunday Mr. Hunter was to receive his B. S. degree at Purdue university.

Mrs. Hunter attended DePauw and Indiana universities. In September Mr. Hunter will be vocational teacher in the northern part of the state.

Among the guests were Robert Hunter and H. H. Hall, Indianapolis; and William Blind, Lafayette.

H. Park Hunter, 88

WILLIAMSPORT — H. Park Hunter, 88, formerly of rural Williamsport, died at 1:39 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2007, at his home at Westminster Village in West Lafayette.

He was born in Williamsport on Feb. 23, 1919, to the late Herbert and Shirley Clark Hunter. He was a graduate of Williamsport High School and Purdue University.

On June 4, 1941, he married Anna Jean Crone in Williamsport. She survives.

Mr. Hunter taught agriculture for a few years before becoming a full-time farmer. He spent some of those years teaching the veterans' classes in the old West Lebanon High School.

He enjoyed farm life and served agricultural interests at the local, state and national levels. He had served on the Warren County Council, Farm Bureau board and Trinity Presbyterian Church board.

He enjoyed sharing stories of hie years with the 1944 undefeated Williamsport Lions baseball team of the Illinois-Indiana Baseball League. A believer in encouraging youth, he and his wife established the Hunter Scholarship at the Warren County Community Foundation.

Surviving with his wife are three children, John Hunter (wife: Candace) of rural Williamsport, Ben Hunter (wife: Linda) of Tab and Jeanne Siebers (husband: Dennis) of Livermore, Calif.; and a brother, Robert Hunter.

Visitation will be at Grady Funeral Home in Williamsport on Saturday, Nov. 3, 2007, from 10 a.m. (EDT) until service time at noon. The Rev. Roger McDaniel will preside. Interment will be at West Lebanon Cemetery. The family request that in lieu of flowers memorials be made to the Warren County Community Foundation for the Hunter Scholarship Fund or to Trinity Presbyterian Church of West Lebanon.

Anna J. Hunter, 87

WILLIAMSPORT — Anna Jean Hunger, 87, formerly of rural Williamsport, died at 2 a.m. Wednesday, May 28, 2008, at her home at Westminster Village in West Lafayette.

Born in Williamsport on March 15, 1921, she was the daughter of the late John B. and Irene Hall Crone. She graduated from West Lebanon High School and attended DePauw and Indiana universities. She married H. Park Hunter on June 4, 1941, in Williamsport. He died Oct. 31, 2007.

She was a homemaker and enjoyed flower gardens and music.

Mrs. Hunter was involved in community, church, Farm Bureau, school, Scouts and 4-H groups.

Surviving are three children, John Hunter (wife: Candace) of rural Williamsport, Ben Hunter (wife:Linda) of Tab and Jeanne Siebers (husband: Dennis) of Livermore, Calif.; and two brothers, J Hall and Boyd Crone (wife: Virginia).

Visitation at Grady Funeral Home, Williamsport, from 10 a.m. (EDT) until service time at noon Saturday, May 31, 2008, the Rev. Roger McDaniel officiating. Interment West Lebanon Cemetery.
