Bridgewater, April 29.—Eugene Pinkerton Irvine, lifelong resident of the Bridgewater community, died suddenly at the home of his niece, Mrs. A. R. White, this morning, from neuralgia of the heart. He was 71 years of age and the last surviving member of his family.
Mr. Irving was a son of the late Clement and Augusta Rison Irving, and was born on the old Irvine farm, a mile south of Bridgewater, October 12, 1858. He was a lifelong member of the Bridgewater Presbyterian Church and had been recently elected to life membership in the masons.
Mr. Irving arose this morning apparently in his usual heald and went down town. He returned home about an hour later, however, and was stricken with a heart attack. He died a few minutes later.
The only surviving relatives of Mr. Irvine are Mrs. A. R. White, a niece, with whom he made his home, and a nephew, in Texas. Two brothers, Will Irvine, of Texas, and Frank Irvine, of Bridgewater, died several years ago.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p. m. from the home of Mrs. White, conducted by his pastor, Rev. J. O. Beard, and Rev. J. C. Thrasher. Interment will be in the Mossy Creek cemetery. The Masons will have charge of the services at the grave.
