Funeral services for Master Sergeant George Gilliam Irvine, 36, who was fatally injured Sunday in a hunting accident at Walnut Ridge, Ark., will be held at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon in the Methodist church. Dr. C. B. Galatas, pastor, will officiate and burial will be in Ridge Park cemetery. The body was taken to the Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home.
Sgt. Irvine was born July 15, 1920 in Marshall, the son of John and Nadine Young Irvine. He had served in the armed forces since 1942 and was overseas in World War II and also in Korea.
When George was growing up he was a great favorite among the children of his neighborhood on East Eastwood. He was always friendly and jovial and produced much fun for the amusement of his youthful playmates.
Surviving are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Irvine, 750 East Eastwood; two brothers, Dr. John W. Irvine, Jr., Belmont, Mass.; William Y. Irvine, Marshall, and a sister, Mrs. R. F. Aiken, Marshall.
