Claribel Jacobsen

Oct. 24, 1938 — Nov. 20, 1991

Funeral services for Claribel Jacobsen will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Montrose First Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Valley Lawns Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Montrose Valley Funeral Home.

Mrs. Jacobsen, a lifelong resident of Montrose, died Wednesday in San Juan Care Center. She was 73.

She was born Oct. 24, 1918, to Eberle and Addie Leverton Smith in Montrose, where she spent her childhood. She graduated from high school in Montrose in 1936.

She married Don Jacobsen on Jan. 29, 1940, in Moab, Utah. He survives.

Mrs. Jacobsen, a homemaker, lived most of her life in Montrose except for six years she spent in Los Angeles.

She was a member of the Montrose First Presbyterian Church, Order of the Eastern Star, the Sunshine Circle and Jolly Hour Club, Pinochle Club, Bible study, church-affiliated groups and Birthday Club.

She enjoyed her family, children, and grandchildren and spending the holidays with them. She also enjoyed fishing, the outdoors, being in the mountains, family picnics and camping at Beaver Lake.

Other survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Bob and Lynda Jacobsen of Park; a daughter and son-in-law, Dennis and Linda Ditsworth of Englewood; a sister, Florence Killmore of Montrose; and four grandchildren.

A sister, Marguerite Keller, is deceased.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program, Rehabilitation Department, in care of Montrose Memorial, 800 S. Third St., Montrose 91401.
