Chauncey Kessler

LAFONTAINE — Services for Chauncey Kessler, 81, LaFontaine, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Somerset Christian Church, the Rev. Keith Watkins officiating.

Mr. Kessler, a retired mail carrier, died at 5:30 a.m. Thursday in a Wabash nursing home. Burial will be in Mississinewa Memorial Cemetery. Friends may call at Eddingfield Mortuary after 1 p.m. today.

Surviving are his wife, Grace; one daughter, Mrs. Carl Gerlach, Green Bay, Wis.; one sister, Miss Agness Kessler, LaFontaine, and 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Grace Kessler

Mrs. Grace Kessler, 80, 1032 S. Jackson St., died Thursday evening in a local convalescent home. The former Grace Rains was born in Chattanooga, Tenn. She was a member of the American Gold Star Mothers of Wabash, Ind. Mrs. Kessler was preceded in death by her husband, Chauncey, 1939 and also by one son, James R. Kessler, in 1945.

Survivors are one daughter Mrs. Carl (Evelyn) Gerlach, Green Day; 11 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at Schauer and Schumacher East Side Funeral Home after 4 p.m. today. Wake service at 8 this evening. Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. David Rondou officiating. Burial in Allouez Cemetery.
