Joseph E. Lee, 76, of 237 Miller Ave., Eaton, died Tuesday, Jan. 10, at Reid Hospital in Richmond, Ind.
Born March 16, 1918, in New Paris, he was the son of Ernest and Ruth (Ervin) Lee. He was a retired Jefferson Township farmer and had sold insurance and real estate. He was district manager for the Ohio Historical Society, Preble County Commissioner for 12 years; deputy sheriff for eight years; and was a 51-year member of Fellowship Lodge #106 F&AM in New Paris.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Alice (Juday) Lee; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry J. and Pamela Lee of Eaton, Robert "Bob" and Peggy Lee of New Paris; two grandsons, Michael Todd and Steven Lee; two granddaughters, Christina and Linda; two granddaughters-in-law, Teri and Brenda; and two great grand-daughters, Kayla and Samantha Jo.
Funeral services were held at the convenience of the family at Springlawn Cemetery, New Paris, with the Rev. Kathryn Hawbaker officiating. Bussard-Barnes-Vaniman Funeral Home, Eldorado, was in charge of arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Eaton Emergency Squad or to Eldorado Universalist Church.

Alice L. Lee, 87, passed away Monday, July 10, 2006, at the Greenbriar Nursing Center, Eaton, Ohio.
Alice was born July 6, 1919, in Eldorado, Ohio, the daughter of Everard and Elizabeth Juday.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joseph E. Lee (1/10/1995); sister, Mildred; brother, James.
She is survived by two sons, Jerry and wife Pam, Robert and wife Peggy; sister, Sandra and husband Rayburn Pence; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star for over 50 years.
The funeral service for Alice L. Lee will be Thursday, July 13, 2006, at 2 p.m. the Bussard-Barnes-Vaniman Funeral Home, 311 N. Main St., Eldorado, Ohio, with the Rev. Kathryn Hawbaker officiating. Burial will follow at Springlawn Cemetery, New Paris, Ohio. Friends may call from noon-2 p.m. on Thursday.
