Miss Bentz Wed Here Last Night

Becomes Bride Of Mr. Leiter In Trinity Lutheran Ceremony.

Trinity Lutheran Church was the scene of a beautiful wedding last evening at 8 o'clock when Miss Zazel Virginia Bentz, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Norman J. Bentz, 1200 Oak Hill avenue, became the bride of Mr. Roy Allen Leiter, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy A. Leiter, Broadway. Rev. Wilson P. Ard, D. D., pastor of the church, performed the ceremony in the presence of a host of friends and relatives.

The church was illuminated by candles interspersed with ferns, white gladioli and snapdragons. Candles caught with white snapdragons decorated the pews and candles also adorned the windows and cathedral candelabra and white gladioli were used in the chancel.

Preceding the ceremony, Walter P. Westphal, church organist, played a group of selections and Armand Harkless, of New York City, sang "O Promise Me" and "Because."

Given in marriage by her father, the stately beauty of the bride was enhanced by her wedding gown fashioned with a white slipper satin bodice and a full net skirt of several tiers which formed a train. White satin love knots were appliqued on the skirt. Her tiered veil of bridal illusion fell from a halo caught with the satin knots. She carried a white prayer book with a marker of white orchids and ribbon streamers fastened with stephanotis.

Her maid of honor was Miss Phyllis leiter, sister of the groom and the bridesmaids included Mrs. Floyd Bennett, Jr., Miss Mary Emma Chaires, Mrs. Jennings Dawson, cousin of the bride, Mrs. E. Coulbourne Jones, Jr., of this city; Mrs. Edgar Jacobs, Jr., Chambersburg and Mrs. Armand Harkless, New York City. [T]hey were dressed alike in yellow summer taffeta with bracelet lenght sleeves and carried bouquets of Boston daisies and gerbera with matching flowers in their hair. The maid-of-honor carried golden rapture roses.

Lewis M. Leiter was his brother's best man and the ushers were E. Coulbourne Jones, Jr., Edgar Jacobs, Jr., Flody Bennett, Jr., this city; Howard Roddy, Washington, D. C., and george Bailey, of Baltimore.

The bride's mother was attired in a white silk jersey and the groom's mother wore black net with white dots embroidered on the full skirt. Both had corsages of Phalaenopsis orchids.

A reception followed at Fountain Head Country Club. During the evening the couple left for a trip to Florida, the bride wearing white pique designed with red eyelet embroidery forming horizontal stripes with matching accessories and an orchid corsage.

Both are graduates of the Hagerstown High School. Mrs. Leiter attended the Maryland Institute of Fine Arts and Mr. Leiter Duke University, Durham, N. C. He is associated with Leiter Brothers Store. Upon their return they will reside at 1025 Hamilton boulevard.
