Washington Square Methodist Church was a scene of a pretty wedding on Saturday evening at 7:30 o'clock when Miss Enid Jane Hoffer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry W. Hoffer, this city, became the bride of Mr. Lewis Munn Leiter, son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy A. Leiter, this city. The Rev. M. A. Keesecker performed the ceremony against a background of white and blue delphinium, ferns and palms.
The wedding music was played by the church organist, Miss Evelyn Sullivan.
The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore a white silk marquisette styled with a redingote over a satin slip. Her fingertip tulle veil fell from a halo of orange blossoms. She carried a bouquet of white rosebuds, snapdragons and swansona.
Miss Helen Hoffer, of Washington D. C., was her sister's maid of honor, wearing powder blue chiffon fashioned with a girdle and puff sleeves and carrying pink rosebuds and blue delphinium with matching flowers on her head.
Allen R. Leiter, Jr., was his brother's best man and the ushers were Joseph Crockett, of Washington, D. C.; Jordon Bean, Robert Cartee and Stanley Shaffer.
A reception followed the ceremony at Fountain Head Country Club. During the evening the couple left for a wedding trip to Myrtle Beach, S. C., after which they will reside at 101 Broadway. As a going-away outfit Mrs. Leiter wore a cocoa brown dress and a brown straw hat. Her corsage was of yellow daisies.
The bride's mother wore a blue print chiffon with white accessories and a corsage of swansona and snapdragons and the groom's mother was attired in chartruese trimmed in gold with a corsage of daisies.
Both are graduates of the Hagerstown High School. Mr. Leiter attended Strayer's Business College and is an employe of the Potomac Edison Company. The bride was employed by the Potomac Edison Company before her marriage.

Enid Hoffer Leiter, 90, beloved wife of Lewis M. Leiter of Hanover, Pa., entered into God's eternal care Friday, March 25, 2011, at Homewood at Plum Creek.
Born April 11, 1920, in Hagerstown, Md., she was a daughter of the late Henry W. and Ruth Grady Hoffer. A 1938 graduate of Hagerstown High School, she had lived in southern California for 47 years before moving to Homewood at Plum Creek 19 years ago.
Mrs. Leiter was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church, and was a former member of Hanover Garden Club, Hanover Historical Society and Hanover Country Club. She enjoyed her role as a homemaker but found time to serve in secretarial positions at several places her husband's business took her.
Surviving, in addition to her husband of nearly 70 years, is her daughter, Lynda Olmsted of Sacramento, Calif.; two sons, Jeffrey Leiter of Dallas, Texas, and Lewis Leiter Jr. of Frederick, Md.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 31, 2011, at Rose Hill Cemetery, 600 Potomac St., Hagerstown. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday at Homewood Chapel at Plum Creek, Hanover, with the Rev. Douglas Smith officiating both services.
