Stayton—George B. Lent of Scio and Hazel McCoy of Turner were married in Salem on Thursday by Judge Siegmund. Lent is the son of Mrs. George Wooden of this place and after the marriage ceremony came to Stayton where they were supper guests at the Wooden home after which they were surprised by a number of their friends giving them a charivari.

George Burton Lent

ROUNDUP — Former Musselshell resident, George Burton Lent, 78, died Thursday in Roundup Memorial Hospital.

He worked for the Chicago Milwaukee Railroad until retiring in 1966, and worked as a ranch hand until moving to Roundup in 1973. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He was born in Rice Lake, Wis., a son of Mr. and Mrs. George Lent. He came to Melstone with his mother at age three. He married Grace Stovall in 1941.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Frank and Alfred of Salem, Ore., and Lee of Ontario, Ore.; a daughter Leona Harper of Salem, Ore.; a half brother Jim Carlin of Pocatella, Idaho, a sister; Mrs. Walter (Roy) Martin of Roundup; and numerous grandchildren.

Services will be 2 p.m. Monday in Wier Chapel with burial in Musselshell Cemetery.
