Bryant—Maphis

A very beautiful home wedding was solemnized at the bride's home, Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, when Miss Laura Bell Maphis became the bride of Mr. Charles L. (Scott) Bryant.

The ceremony was performed by Rev. P. W. Wisman, assisted by Rev. Henry Wise, of Parkersburg, W. Va. The bride wore white venice lace over white silk; slippers and goves to match and carried brides roses. Miss Zelia Wisman, nice of the bride, was license bearer, and Miss Cora Pitman, of Woodstock, a cousin of the bride, played Lohengrin's march as they entered the parlor and Mendelsshon's during the ceremony.

The bride was the recipient of many useful and pretty presents. A number of her friends presented her with cakes for the occasion.

A reception followed immediately after the ceremony and music was furnished by St. Luke Orchestra. About one hundred friends of the couple were present, amoung whom were Dr. and Mrs. H. H. Irwin, and Mr. and Mrs. B. G. Wenger, of Woodstock.

The bride is the attractive daughter of Mr. Reuben Maphis and is one of the most popular young ladies of the neighborhood in which she resides.

The groom is a well known retired farmer of the Powell's Fort Valley.

Their many friends extend hearty congratulations. The writer, himself, spent one of the most pleasant days of his life on this occasion,—but he fully realizes that there is one less chance for himself in the field of matrimony.
