Marriage vows were exchanged in Cherokee Friday evening between Miss Maxine P. Ralph, Alhambra, Calif., and Pfc. William D. McNeely, of Quinlan, Ozark, Ala., son of Mr and Mrs. W. D. Quinlan. The wedding ring ceremony was read by the Rev. W. A. Keller, Christian minister at the parsonage, witnesses to the marriage were Mrs. Clara Smith of Cheyenne, Wyo., and Mrs. Keller.
For her marriage, Miss Ralph wore a two-piece street dress in soldier blue crepe. Accessories were in black. She was graduated from the Quinlan high school and since her graduation has been operating a beauty parlor in her home town.
The groom also graduated from the Quinlan high school, following which he did three years work at Northwestern State Teachers College, at Alva, before entering military service. Pfc. McNeely has been in the service for the past 25 months and is stationed at Camp Rucker, Alabama.
Following a brief furlough which he will spend honeymooning, the groom will return to his work with the military forces of his country.
When the couple appeared at the parsonage door, the bride-to-be introduced herself by saying: "I am the grand daughter of Frank Ralph, if that means anything to you?" Well did it mean anything to us? It certainly did—just this: That 55 years ago her grandfather and the minister were schoolmates in a little country school in Harvey county Kansas.
