ELWOOD MILLER

Services for Elwood Miller, 64, Country Homes Estate, will be held at 8:15 a. m. tomorrow from St. Francis of Assisi church. Burial will be in Holy Cross cemetery.

Rosary will be said at 7:30 tonight in the Hennessey funeral home.

Mr. Miller was partner in the Carter-Miller Mill Furnishing company, N1324 Ash. He died Friday night in a Spokane hospital.

A native of Spokane, Mr. Miller suffered a stroke about two weeks ago and had been confined to the hospital since.

His parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. Louis M. Miller, came to Spokane from Kansas in 1886. Following the fire that destroyed much of the city in 1889, the family for some time lived in a tent near the present site of the armory building.

Mr. Miller and his partner, A. L. Carter, founded the machinist company in 1929.

He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Serra club, the Rotary club, the Early Birds, the Spokane County Republican club, St. Francis of Assisi Catholic church, and the Holy Name society of that church. He held various offices in the organizations.

Survivors include the widow, Marie, at the home; two daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Sexton and Mrs. Lois Reynolds, both of Spokane; a sister, Mrs. Allie Gray, Philipsburg, Mont., and five grandchildren.
