SPOKANE PIONEER TAKEN BY DEATH

Jennie N. Miller, 85, a resident of the Spokane area for 65 years, died today at her home, W908 Dalton.

Mrs. Miller was born in Illinois. Following her marriage in Kansas to the late Louis M. Miller, she and her husband came to Spokane in 1887 and homesteaded on a farm about 10 miles north of Spokane.

In 1911 they moved to their home on Dalton and Mr. Miller was employed by the Union Pacific railway. He died in 1939.

Mrs. Miller was a member of Jefferson Street Christian church.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Albertina Gray of Philipsburg, Mont.; a son, Elwood K. Miller of Country Homes Estates; a sister, Mrs. Ella Blenz of Colville; a brother in California; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Monday at 2 p. m. at Hennessey's with the Rev. William H. Hart officating. Burial will be in Holy Cross cemetery.
